How to Make Turkish delight with Jello
What you will need:
3 cups unsweetened apricot or apple juice 1 cup powdered sugar 2 cups chopped walnuts 2/3 cup cornstarch 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 tablespoons lime juice 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
How to make it:
Put the gelatin in half a cup of the apricot or apple juice to soften it and boil the rest of the juice with the granulated sugar. Concentrate the lemon, lime juice, and add all except 1/4 cup of the cornstarch.
Add the gelatin and cornstarch mixtures and bring it back to the boil, cooking it for ten minutes or until it is very thick, stirring all the time.
Add the walnuts and pour the mixture into a 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan, which has been dipped in ice water.
Let it dehydrate for 12 hours, then cut it into bite sized pieces. Mix the rest of the cornstarch with the powdered sugar and roll the pieces in this mixture.
